Credit Guide
Please note the below information details the explanation behind the credits, what they're good for, how to obtain them, and how characters can keep track of gained and lost credits.
Characters upon arrival are "tagged" with a bracelet (which you can read more about at the Tech Guide). This bracelet keeps a record of credits that are lost and received as a result of actions your character takes.
You may be asking what "credits" are. ALICE's world and experiment runs on credits, and credits are meant to motivate your character. Yes, your character may receive free room and board, but surely they're not happy with the bare minimum. Some characters have expensive taste and want the finer things in life. That's where credits come in. Credits serve as currency, the monetary unit, in which they can acquire better food, some nice decor for their residence, and other little things that aren't necessarily essential things, but certainly more luxurious.
In order to acquire credits, your character needs to have interaction with others. After all, ALICE is watching you, and she wants to make observations on social intimacy and how it evolves into relationships, friendships, familial connections, and even things that stretch into romance land. She can't get very good results if you choose not to cooperate. It's not required, of course, but she'd really appreciate it if she didn't have any rebellious types being set free.
Please note that credits are awarded for what is considered "good" interaction. Acts of violence or non-consentual actions (meaning the muns need to agree, but the characters do not necessarily need to) will result in the loss of credits. If you have an idea, but aren't sure whether it'll result in "good" or "bad" interaction, ask a mod and they'll be happy to lend a hand. Below will clarify various actions and the amount of credits rewarded for them. If there's something you think should be here, but isn't please contact a mod and let's discuss!
In an in-character perspective, they are not aware (at first) of how many credits will yield certain activities though those who watch their credits closely may be able to pick up on it.

| ♫ Social Outings are not limited to one-on-one dates. It could be a group date. It can be a social gathering for any particular reason as long as it establishes some form of CR. It can be as simple a walk through the park to even something more intricate for player or community plot. Please don't confuse non-consensual fights as social outings. Ω Social Charity is defined as procuring items for another person, whether it's for a gift, a surprise, or other reason. Credits received for this action are worth the amount of 20% whatever the character paid for the item in the first place. ¤ Comfort can be anything from lending a shoulder to cry on, an ear to listen, to even a kiss on the forehead. ALICE sees everything, though, and she is the ultimate decision maker on what is worthy of credits or not. § Intimacy can be anywhere from kissing to the unspeakable and everything in between. Different actions are worth different amounts of credits. If you have a question about this, contact a mod and they'll be happy to help. Σ That's right. With or without a priest aboard, ALICE believes she has the power to ordain people as married couples. As stated above, married couples get 300 credits weekly. The downside (or upside, however you choose to see it) is that the credits between those in the marriage are shared. ♠ Fighting is considered any type of physical assault ranging from punches up to cracked ribs. Contact a mod before indulging in brawls and non-consensual fights. ‰ Stealing will result in a loss of credits depending on what is stolen and the quantity. Please inform a mod if you wish to take this route. # Property Damage is considered any type of damage you do unto the ship that is deliberate. Whether it's tear apart the curtain rods, trash the room, etc. Please contact a mod if you wish for your character to do this. ¶ Hacking or attempted hacking into ALICE's database (for any reason) especially for tampering with credit amounts will result in CCD: Complete Credit Depletion. You will be caught. There is no way to evade ALICE's systems unless she allows you to. This can be discussed with the mods per the circumstance. ± Killing people is bad, mmkay? ALICE wants her experiments alive, so even killing people doesn't mean they'll stay dead. Hello, technology; goodbye, death. Just consider that attempting to kill people is a very big NO-NO. ALICE will punish those who break her rules. β Illegal Activities are defined by origins of the character. If it is illegal for them to act on such-and-such and they choose to do it anyway, there will be neither a loss nor a gain in credits. If two people indulge in an illegal activity together, then both will suffer the same nullification. If you don't know if something's illegal for your character or not, contact one of the mods for discussion. ♣ Sexual activity is required in order to keep credits positive. If anyone decides to stay abstinent for a period of 30 days, their credits will reset to zero (0) on the 30th day. In order for them to start rebuilding credits, they will need to engage in sexual activity. Otherwise, any social interaction after 30 days of abstinence will not replenish credits. |
